DRAKE KILN wrote:We don't die so how can anyone win. With an infinite army on both sides battles should go on forever. Whole planets reduced to smoldering waist lands and population forced from their homes or forced to face genocide. The system of power would fall apart because of the clones immortality and empires would fall because of the death and distruction. We serve the empires but how long till we relies our power. A basic human trait is the need for violence and with the Mercs of dust, the galaxy should be a very bad place for a summer vacation.
Just positing an idea I had. I support any positive feedback.
Fight with honor and die proud
There is honour in serving the Faith and dying for God.
The Empire will never crumble, it is built strong and held together by the grace of the Empress. As long as one Amarr remains who hold true to the Faith and stands against the Dark there will always be an Empire.
I'll spend the rest of my life fighting and dying to uphold those ideals. Unlike a mercenary I cannot be bought, I cannot be sold, shall never lose my Faith, nor turn away from God's light.
"Surround yourself with the faithful, Stand together, for there is no strength like it under the heavens." - The Scriptures, Book of Missions 71:21
You will one day learn that while all mercenaries were built for war, few of us sell the value of peace short.

For hawk-eye your link does not work.
And for danak, thanks for the information, I am still new to dust and am trying to learn the lore. Also I think it would be cool if the galaxy went to anarchy.
Empty threats scare me not soldier.
Only a fool does not see the might that is any one of the Empire's in New Eden, and only the lowest of those fools does not see the glory of the Amarr.
One man is nothing to me, one corporation is nothing to the Empire. Time and time again the Praetoriani have stood before the best the Matari have paid to fight their wars and time and time again we have repulsed them with Faith and Fire.
(( On an OOC note I love when people say they could take out Jamyl Sarum...... if you have read anything about he you'd know she is not an easy person to stand before.....something about her strikes the fear of God in all lesser men.))

If you empire is so grand then why do the minmatar stand strong, if you and your god are so great then why don't you just steam role us. I fight for what I believe in and I hope to fight you without you hiding behind your cowardly masters. When we meet in battle than your god will cower at our glory. Die well my eternal foe, die well.
Because the Amarr have never deemed it worthy to ever deploy more than a quarter their standing military forces to any one historical engagement. Not against the Jove, not against the Elder Fleets, and certainly not now against rebels.

Also, I think a bullet to the brain would allow her to meet her god and maybe humble your kind. All we want is freedom. Freedom from slavery, freedom from occupation, and freedom from forced religion. If you can't see Righteousness in that cause than you are more blind than I was lead to believe.
That is why you must be brought to see the glory of God. We Amarr seek only to unite mankind under one single banner, where each man and woman knows how to live properly through the tenets of the scriptures, where we all stand as rightful rulers of everything beneath the heavens, and where the light of the Faith shines across the stars.
Righteousness if duty, and dedication to that singular duty. Duty does not serve the self, it does not serve any one people.
Duty is to serve the Divine, and the Divine blesses us with the singular right of conquest.

Righteousness if duty, and dedication to that singular duty. Duty does not serve the self, it does not serve any one people. Duty is to serve the Divine, and the Divine blesses us with the singular right of conquest. Is it truly holy to force others to follow you, why not have the Caldari or Minmatar be the banner of man. Oh wait you are "the chosen" and all who stand before you are bugs to be crushed. One quarter my @$$. Your mission is flawed. If you wish to unite humanity than why jump to slavery?
It if righteous to do what must be done.
The Minmatar cannot lead man into a stable future because they are fundamentally and aggressive and disparate people, this raw agression must be tempered for the better of not only the people of New Eden but also for their own benefits. The Amarr tried this once...but we overzealous.
We have learned since then that in the case of the Minmatar harsh actions only drive you to rebellion. This is why now the Amarr are bound by law and duty to treat all slaves as they are deserving. This being as prospective sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, however way laid by the impure Gallente.
As for the Caldari.... I find aspects of their culture laudible. I serve with Caldari converts and find their strength of Faith a beacon. The Caldari show their spiritual potential, they show their dedication to duty, to their people, and to their pursuits.
A quarter of our forces is relatively accurate. Our Navy is the largest ((and currently considered by Mordu the most powerful)) and most active.
As I have spoken of in the past in cultural analysis the subjugation of the conquered races is not for the sake of mere slavery or labour.... it is a trial, not unlike the one the True Amarr suffered through on Athra. During this time slaves are taught to live as Amarr and those quick to adapt and accept are freed.
The Minmatar suffered 300 years unable to accept. The Ni Kunni suffered less than a generation and now comprise a major bloodline.
Matari soldiers who serve the Navy command great respect and significant authority for their station.
Slave is a word I would not use. Student would be more apt.

DRAKE KILN wrote:I think I finally see your point, know that through our discussion, I have had respect for you. The Amarr are not as evil as I am taught (my best friend in New Eden is one of your kind). While I will not bend my knee to the empress, I agree that the Amarr have good intentions, just not the best methods. I also agree on Minmatar disunity, and how we must be focused. As for humanity under one banner, I don't think any of the empires are Capable of the task, we need something better. Your faith in your god is like the faith I have in mine, and all and all you and I are not so different.
One day that respect you have for the Amarr will lead you back to Dam Torsad.
And there in the most holy of cities you shall bend the knee. Not before our Empress......but before a shrine to God.

DRAKE KILN wrote:All I know is conflict it used to give me such satisfaction, until now. The battles seemed pointless the money was overflowing and I am as skilled in weaponry as a caldari is at robbing you. My battles were pointless, until I found faith. I don't think it is the same faith the Amarr follow, but a faith in a higher power. Now my battles mean so much more. I fight for what I think is right and that someday the galaxy will learn peace.
There is no higher power.
In the end I leave you with these three excerpts from the Scriptures to consider.
"The Amarr people came into the world and the world came into being. Our illustrious ancestors freed their souls from the evils of the old. world and created a new one. The great Amarr Empire was founded to cultivate the spirit of man. To do so the enemies of the outside had to be defeated and the enemies of the inside controlled. The Lord gave our Emperor the power to harness the Good and punish the Evil. Ever since, the Emperor has lived the lives of his subjects and breathed the air of authority." - The Scriptures, Book I 1:14
The Lord created and shaped us, described what we were, and what we were to do.
"I give to you the destiny of Faith, And you will bring its message to every planet of every star in the heavens: Go forth, conquer in my Name, and reclaim that which I have given." - The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 22:13
He gave us a purpose that that when lead by the Faithful we would ascend to an Immortal Destiny.
"The word of the Lord is pure, It is a shield for the faithful, Brought unto men by the Angels, As a guiding light in the darkness " - The Scriptures, Prophet Anoyia 8:15
His word gave us the tools on which we built our empire, but more so than this, they brought hope. And that hope shall shine like a beacon, like a an eternal flame, that will draw the lost and expel the dark.
